To understand the concept of the breakeven multiple, let's consider a simple example. Suppose you bought a cryptocurrency at a market price of $10, and later the price dropped to $2. This means the asset's value must double to return to its original value.

Therefore, the breakeven multiplier in this case is (2/10), which equals 5. This means your investment needs to achieve a 500% return on the current price to reach the breakeven point of $10.

It is important to understand the breakeven multiplier because it shows that the percentage increase required to recover from a loss is usually much higher than the percentage of the decline itself.
