Perpetual Protocol (PERP) is an Ethereum-based Decentralized Exchange (DEX) offering crypto-for-crypto trading to its users. Unlike many other exchanges, who follow the traditional order book model, Perpetual Protocol uses its virtual automated market maker (vAMM) to set liquidity and facilitate transactions. Contrary to the majority of its counterparts, the platform allows its users to go long or short on positions, while providing margin trading opportunities with the chance to leverage up to ten times of their available funds. As an additional feature, Perpetual Protocol introduced limit and stop-orders, which are considered to be essential features of any major exchange. Also, the platform offers various Decentralized Finance (DeFi) applications, such as staking pools, where participants can earn compensation for delegating their holdings to related aggregate funds. PERP, the ecosystem’s ERC-20 crypto token, is mainly used for governance purposes.
