What Is Oversold?

It happens when a cryptocurrency is sold by an increasing number of investors over time, causing its price falls for a prolonged amount of time. Oversold is a word used to describe an asset trading at a price lower than its true value, such as Bitcoin. 

The inverse of overbought is oversold. As a result, determining whether an item is in the oversold region is subjective because analysts use different research methodologies. There is no recorded reversal period for an oversold occurrence. 

On the other hand, technical indicators assess if a bitcoin asset is oversold. Furthermore, the signs predict when the situation is likely to revert. The reversal date is usually determined by "if" conditions.

Indication for the Concept of Oversold

Analysts may notice, for example, that a change will occur only if a certain price level, sometimes referred to as a support level, is achieved.  The relative strength index (RSI) and Bollinger bands are two common technical indicators used to suggest an oversold state. 

The RSI indicator evaluates the pace of price variation using a momentum oscillator. Bollinger bands, on another note, are made up of three bands: lower, middle, and upper. The center band taps into the moving average of an asset, while the lower and upper bands document standard price deviations from the middle band. 

We have an oversold scenario when the values change towards the top band. Aside from technical indications, fundamental analysis might identify an oversold condition. Fundamental indicators are based on current and previous prices.

What Sets Oversold and Overbought Apart?

Oversold means an asset is trading in the lower half of its recent price range or near lows based on fundamental data, while overbought means the opposite. Whenever the cost of an asset is trading at the upper end of its previous price range, an overbought technical indicator reading shows. 

Likewise, an overbought fundamental reading occurs when the asset is trading at the top of its fundamental ratios. This is not to say that the asset must be sold. It is simply a warning to investigate what is happening at the moment.
