Fundamental Analysis (FA)
Fundamental Analysis (FA)
What Is Fundamental Analysis (FA)?
In order to determine an asset's inherent worth, fundamental analysis is a type of analytical approach utilized in the financial markets. To assess whether an asset is overvalued or undervalued, it takes into account various internal and external elements that can influence the price of an asset.
How Does Fundamental Analysis Work in Crypto Trading
Three essential metrics—Onchain, Project, and Financial—are used in the fundamental crypto trading analysis framework.
Onchain Metric
Systems on crypto platforms make it simple to access network and blockchain data. By using these technologies, you may avoid the difficult work of manually gathering this information. Let's rapidly review several key cryptos' on-chain metrics first.
Transaction Value and Fee
A currency that is regularly in use will have a high transaction value. Therefore, the circulation rate can be compared over time to provide sufficient information to forecast future market moves.
Transaction fees are standard in blockchains. Similar to the gas fees paid on the Ethereum blockchain, fees also reflect the demands of transactions to be included in blockchains as quickly as possible.
Active Address
On a blockchain, active addresses are those that are currently being used. To calculate this, you must count the numbers of both the sender and the recipient of transactions over a specified time period.
To determine activity and interest in a cryptocurrency, you can also observe the evolution of the number of unique addresses over time and compare the results. More popular cryptocurrencies have significant potential.
Hashrate And Staked Amount
The two most widely used consensus algorithms for cryptocurrencies are proof of stake and proof of work. Proof-of-work, which gauges the network's health using the hash rate, is used by both Bitcoin and Ethereum.
A system that is more secure and hard to bridge has a high hash rate. However, if the hash rate falls, crypto mining activities could also begin to decrease, mainly if miners believe it unprofitable. Investor interest in the cryptocurrency asset declines as the hash rate falls.
Project Metric
Project metrics are a qualitative method for assessing how well a cryptocurrency project is going. For example, some of the projects are as under:
White Paper
Before investing in any enterprise, you must read its whitepaper. The technical whitepaper provides a detailed analysis of the project. The project's goals, strategies for achieving them, use cases, supply levels, the technology employed, and a wealth of other relevant information are all included in this document. Therefore, reading the whitepaper is simply one of the things that individuals mean when they advise doing your research before investing.
Tokenomics
Market forces such as supply and demand influence cryptocurrency value and price. The price will rise in line with the ratio of supply and demand. The tokenomics also includes the incentive framework used to motivate activity on a network.
A token's value is also based on the operations that it can carry out. Therefore, there is a chance that a coin with more practical applications may attract more users and interest.
Financial Metric
These statistics relate to the flow of funds in the cryptocurrency market. The fundamental analysis makes use of data such as market capitalization, liquidity, volume, and other associated information.
Market Capitalization
The market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the total number of tokens in circulation by their current value. The market capitalization value of a network indicates its value; you may use this statistic to determine the age of a project and its growth potential.
Liquidity
An asset's liquidity can be determined by how easily it can be traded. If a bitcoin asset can be bought or sold fast without affecting its market value, its liquidity is robust. An order book for an easily traded cryptocurrency coin or token will have a large number of buyers and sellers.
Volume
The trading volume of a token reveals how well it will maintain its value over time. This indicator shows the total number of individual assets that have been traded during the time frame under consideration. A trend going up and with a high trade volume will probably endure longer than one going down.
Evaluating Cryptocurrencies With Fundamental Analysis
Before making any cryptocurrency investments, keep in mind that because there are no financial statements, evaluating cryptocurrencies is very different from evaluating traditional financial assets like equities. However, utilizing financial statements to assess a company's viability and financial health constitutes a fundamental analysis of equities.
There are no financial statements when assessing cryptocurrency because:
There is no prior experience to draw upon, and practically all cryptocurrencies are still in the early stages of development.
Cryptocurrencies are virtual representations of money or other assets that depend on users, developers, and miners.
