Audius (AUDIO) is a crypto-based, decentralized music streaming platform currently running on Solana that was built for anyone to showcase and share their work. Artists can publish their tracks, or any kind of audio on the Audius ledger, from where users can download their preferred content at speeds similar to global players, such as Spotify. The network secured backing from famous artists, such as deadmau5 (Joel Zimmermann), 3LAU, Rezz, and many more. AUDIO is the native token of the Audius ecosystem, and its main purpose is to serve as an incentive for artists and fans alike in the form of community-voted airdrops and allocations. Audius plans to implement and enable optional copyright protection for all its artists, as well as a staking mechanism, where all AUDIO holders will be able to delegate their tokens and get compensated in return. It’s worth mentioning that Audius partnered with TikTok, one of the most popular social platforms of its era.
