What Is a Library?

A library is a recorded, sorted collection of resources. The term can also refer to prewritten modules of computer code. In programming terms, a library refers to a collection of resources like .exe files, documents, templates, and code. 

Library also refers to prewritten modules for specific tasks and purposes that programmers can use for programming purposes. For example, these modules could be code, scripts, procedures, or configurations. These library resources are helpful for developers as they can use them where needed and avoid having to write them from scratch.
