What is Secure Multi-Party Computation? 

Secure multi-party computation (sMPC) is a part of a cryptographic protocol that distributes computation across multiple parties. It does this in such a manner that all parties are kept private, and no one can see the other’s data. Everything is kept confidential (or secure). 

For the blockchain, having Secure multi-party computation (sMPC) means that nodes can work on computing a function without compromising the inputs or overall data privacy. The nodes powering the processing are also not privy to the information. This means that analysts can work on distributed data without compromising its security.
