What Is Lambo?

Lambo is short or slang for Lamborghini, the car crypto fans want to buy after striking it rich. The term “when Lambo” was especially widespread in crypto circles, often used as a short form for asking when crypto prices will rise and make them rich.

This makes sense, as Lamborghini is branded as a high-end car brand that costs its owners a minimum of $200,000. Some crypto (and Lamborghini) enthusiasts have managed to attain their Lambo moment by buying the high-end car from their profits from Bitcoin trading. 

Lamborghinis are perceived as a status symbol of the newly rich, and the term refers to reaching that state through well-placed crypto investments. 

A well-cited example is that of Peter Saddington. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Saddington is a computer coding expert and the CTO of VinWiki. In addition, he is an avid car enthusiast and runs two YouTube channels about cryptocurrency.

He bought his Lambo with 45 Bitcoin he paid $115 for in 2011 during a dip of over 90%. Seven years later, in February 2018, when Bitcoin prices had grown 320,000%, he paid through them to walk away with a 2015 Lamborghini Huracan. In 2020, if he had not used them to buy his Lambo, these 45 Bitcoins would be worth $1.7 million.

It is because of stories like these that users usually joke and share memes about "When Lambo," referring to being able to buy a Lamborghini to flaunt their wealth from their crypto investments.
