Making a deposit on Rain is usually straightforward, but errors can happen. If a deposit has not yet appeared in your Rain account, rest assured that most problems are easy to resolve once we identify the root cause.
Common reasons for delays
Incomplete bank transfer
One frequent issue is an incomplete bank transfer. After you request a deposit on Rain, you must personally transfer the specified amount from your bank account, using our banking details. Make sure the bank account you transfer from is the same one you added to you Rain account.
Incorrect transfer details
Another common cause for delays is entering incorrect details. Even minor typos in account numbers, SWIFT codes, or the IBAN numbers can lead to delayed or returned funds.
Processing time
Processing times also play a role. Transfers initiated on weekends, holidays, or outside regular working hours often take longer to complete. Additionally, please remember that we only accept deposits from bank accounts that match your registered name on Rain. Transfers from third-party accounts will be rejected and returned.
Why the received amount might be different
If the amount in your Rain account differs slightly from what you sent, your bank likely deducted transfer fees. If the transfer went through another institution, intermediary bank fees may also apply. Furthermore, if you sent funds in a currency different from the default currency on your Rain account, the bank may have charged currency conversion fees.
Canceling or editing a deposit
You usually cannot cancel a deposit from Rain’s side once the bank begins processing it. If you realize you entered the wrong details or amount, contact your bank immediately to request a cancellation or amendment. If the bank cannot stop the transfer, you must wait for the funds to be rejected and bounce back to your account.
Resolving deposit issues
To resolve an issue, first verify that the banking details you used match the request on Rain. You should also confirm with your bank that the transfer was successfully sent from their end. While local transfers are quick, international transfers may take up to 4 business days.
