What Is Mineable?

Many cryptocurrencies have a system in place where miners can be paid with freshly produced coins for donating hash power to the creation of blocks. Coins that have the ability to create new cryptocurrencies through the confirmation process are considered to be mineable. Furthermore, Some cryptocurrencies are only created by other means, like annual inflation via staking. These digital currencies are claimed to be unmineable.
